LOL at sticky ceiling stains! I was also shocked by the pineapple juice bc my thought was - that's super sticky, no?! But then I read to the end and it all came together! Great tips!
Would meat tenderizer (heh) do the same thing, except without the risk of residue/staining? It’s a white powder—I’m thinking you could use it like cleanser—put some on a damp cloth and rub the sticky stains with the powder, let it sit, and then wipe the residue off with a damp cloth?
Oh! Probably! The enzymes in pineapple (bromelain) are different from the enzymes in meat tenderizer (papain) but they both work to break down proteins so I think you're onto something and you have def earned bonus points for remembering meat tenderizer as a protein stain remover :)
I looked them both up and papain is more potent and breaks down protein quicker than bromeilian, so my guess is that would be a better option plus if you are trying to clean flat paint, I’d be leery of pineapple yellowing the paint.
This was just what I needed this morning. (To be clear, by that I mean calm and sanity and a little entertaining innuendo, not sticky-toy-residue-removal advice.) You are a gem. Thank you for being a bright light!

I'm glad my dirty mind can provide respite in these dark times <3
Speaking of odd surface stains...how do I get a turmeric stain off a soapstone countertop? HELP
