I basically hate all kinds of cleaning, mainly because I know I'm going to have to do the whole thing again, and I have a high clutter tolerance, so even though it would be better to tidy little and often, I just don't want to. Podcasts are the only way I get cleaning done.

🧼 (this might be wild but bear with me) the cleaners came this morning and after they have been through to take the edge off is the best time to declutter and organize

Oh my gosh I just discovered this substack and had no idea you were back and I'm delighted. Wonderful news for me, personally. Glad to see you around!

This weekend I'm going to switch out my summer/winter clothes and hopefully get rid of a bunch of stuff. I cannot WAIT.

My couch needs a nice deep clean to get ready for cozy season.

I'm also going to make apple hand pies to bring to my football tailgate on Sunday.

Here's a cleaning task I hate: The drain cover in my kitchen sink. I upgraded to a nice OXO one and it still gets absolutely caked with gunk and black grossness no matter how many times I empty it out. I've scrubbed it with toothbrushes and it feels impossible to ever get it clean enough to drain nicely. Would love to know if there's a way to minimize the gunk in the drain beyond deep cleaning the damn thing every week.

This is going to sound nuts, but if you don't have a dishwasher would it fit in a sonic jewelry or retainer cleaner? I'd imagine it's roughly the same size as an adult retainer, no?

Do these drain covers go into a dishwasher? I haven't tried it but it sounds like a solution...

Lol I wish I had a dishwasher. Dealing with a very basic nyc apartment over here.

Then if it were me I would cook it😅 Steam it, sterilize it... obviously not try to melt it, but for me it was a legitimate question, can we put them in the dishwasher?

We've got to trim back our bushes and weed/trim two garden beds. I hate gardening and thankfully my son is now old enough to wield power tools so will happily go to town on the azalea's.

I bit the bullet and did the monthly shower grout cleaning last week and can report that the grout cleaner is still magic!
