I made calendula salve (equal parts shea butter and calendula-infused castor oil), decanted it into the weensy Bonne Maman jars, and gave it as part of my Christmas gifts.
Ohhh that's a great idea — I was thinking of making spice blends and giving out gift-sized sets in the jars, but I love the idea of using them for salves and such. I do love a salve!!!
I’m hoping to do some sneaker cleaning today (so inspired by your gift guide), and I will add makeup brush cleaning and bookshelf organizing to the list. The food storage container situation is out of control and I don’t know if I can negotiate that down with my spouse 😬
My plan for one of my Bonne Maman jars is to use it to transport salad dressing for a Friendsgiving and then leave it there for them to keep it or recycle
Those tiny Bonne Maman jars are so cute! Do you get their advent calendar?
I just moved, so I have lots of little organizing tasks. Hoping to figure out my space maximization (command hooks FTW) in the coat closet. Also a good time to go through clothes and figure out what needs to be donated or rotated.
Late but an important addition to the topic: I have a LOT of those tiny jam jars from several years of Jamvent, and my favorite use for them is making and freezing individual serving sizes of: pesto during summer when basil is plentiful, honey butter for eating with popovers or anything else, and herb butter whenever I have half a bunch of herbs left in the fridge that's starting to look a little sad. I've done chive butter, parsley butter, cilantro butter, and versions where I've added garlic or shallots to any of those... mash up into some salted butter and freeze, and then when you want something to put on some fresh bread or some grocery store ravioli or anything else that you want to feel exciting when you don't have the effort to put in, it's great. You could do some variation with any kind of sauce or ingredient that takes prep but you don't need tons of.
You do have to be vigilant with labels.
My husband has insisted (not wrongly) that I keep them corralled in a ziplock in the freezer rather than free roaming around on the bottom. Seemed an important thought to include for anyone looking to head down this road.
My bike mechanic partner just got a new job at a non-profit bike shop that sells used gear to fund their youth programs. I've got clothes and bags I no long use, so time to sort! I'm saving this task for the weekend because I think that's when my brain will go into anxious worrying mode. (Got a craft class tonight that will keep me busy after work)
Sorting and donating outgrown children's clothing is a fave task of mine because I feel virtuous for getting it out of my house and giving other families gently used clothing that's still in good shape. Ditto with sorting out and donating old work clothing to my local community college's 'interview closet'. They love donations of bags and shoes especially. I also took time this morning to sign up for volunteering slots with an online mentoring group I work with. Doing something for other people gets me out of my own head like nothing else.
Perfect content. I did a kitchen reset today. May do a bathroom reset later. I am politics adjacent at work and my anxiety is at a 12.

I just bought a Bonne Maman advent calendar and never did anything with the jars from the last one
